Nightshade – 4130 Core-Line
Crank is a little creaky but nevertheless good bike all around
Solid bike. Looks great.
Great bike, very fun to ride. Getting a lot of compliments esp from other fixie/SS cyclists. Looks amazing.
I love it! My hope was to find a bike that is better suited for the hilly landscape that I traverse. This bike moves quickly and more effortlessly. The seat isn't terribly comfortable but would be easy to upgrade. I also love the beautiful purple color, and it sparkles in the sunlight!
Bought the bike based on raving reviews. However, I am 5'1 (27 inseam) and i can BARELY reach the ground stand over the top tube on tip toed (nowhere near the 2-3 inch clearance suggested by the merchant). It is very disappointing that I followed the guide, match all the criteria, even emailed a rep to confirm before purchasing, spent $70 on assembly, $20 bucks taxi to the bike shop, and now have to an additional $60 to disassemble & ship this thing back. For a company of this caliber, I would have think there would be more accountability on the part of the merchant to at least offer free return shipping. Rep was super nice (hence the 2 star)...unfortunately the company policy was not as helpful as I had hoped. Overall poor experience.
The Nightshade has been a joy to ride on my daily commutes. Its steel frame glides over the rough patches and I'm impressed with the quality of the brakes and overall build.
I'm so excited to enjoy my new bike. I haven't had a bike since I was a teenager! And the Nightshade color is gorgeous!
The bike and customer service have been excellent. I'm a big fan of how the bike feels. The bullhorn handlebars are great. The colour is phenomenal. Keep making these great colours! Reza has been an amazing help. Fast replies and useful feedback made me a State customer.
My overall experience with State Bikes has been excellent. I bought the Ranger 2.0. I'm 5'5 and ordered size 52. It fit perfectly and rode incredibly smooth. The green is a little brighter than I expected, but it's a beautiful bike nonetheless. Unfortunately, it got stolen last month! I didn't hesitate to buy from State again, especially sense they have a great stolen bike policy. Their customer service is great, too. My second time around I bought the Nightshade and love it just the same. Again, size 52 fits perfectly and it rides incredibly smooth. I've only had it a week or so but zero complaints thus far. I will say the only thing I changed out on both bikes were the tires. I'm sure the tires it comes with will last a little while, however, living in Chicago can really put your tires to the test so I decided to purchase heavier ones.
