So much fun

This bike is an absolute blast. Capable on every surface and super comfortable geometry. Is it the lightest/fastest bike? No. But it’s also not trying to be. Go spend 5k on a carbon bike if that’s what you want ya fuckin nerd.

My first decent bike

I've ridden 112 miles on the bike so far (Jan 2 - Jan 18), and so far I love the way the bike feels. I'm 5'10" and I weigh about 180lbs. The medium size bike feels perfect for my size. The bike is on the heavy side (I believe it's over 25lbs), so I'm trying to figure out ways to shave a few pounds.

A few issues

I havent been able to ride my bike yet due to winter and most likely not until late March. But a few issues. The derailer hanger arrived bent but when contacted a new one was sent out immediately , thumbs up for that. I also discovered the seat post would only drop down about 2 inches before getting stuck. I used the seat post from another bike I have so it wasnt a big issue, but now I'm shy a seat post. The one that came with the bike was just slightly too wide to go into the tube and i didnt want to force it.

Perfect every day bike

Bike is stiff and plush at the same time, like driving a Lincoln Town Car lux-o-barge down the road that is both absorbing every bump but feels stable. It's not light, but that's okay. It still churns along pretty nimbly and feels up to the task. 5'8" and the small fits perfectly.

The paint is gorgeous, with the shop that did the assembly all commenting on the paint job as being interesting yet subtle. It got a bunch of comments from passerbys as well on its maiden voyage.

The brakes leave a little to be desired as they take a bit of effort to get a solid bite into the rotors, though this could be my perception coming from hydraulic brakes in the past. The grips also leave a bit to be desired; they're very comfortable for a shorter ride but they get sweaty pretty quickly. The shifter is solid with its gear selection, but requires a good amount of force to change gears compared to some other shifters I've used in the past. Luckily these are all things that are easily upgraded over time.

I would buy it again, but hoping this one lasts a lifetime.

Love this bike so much. She is fully capable of doing whatever you want. I have taken her on pavement, gravel, and mountain bike trails. The quality of this bike is unreal and State is killing it.

Beautiful bicycle.

Several years ago I bought a cheap fixie frame and customized it with all parts from SBC. Those parts were top notch quality. So when I decided to purchase an all road shift gear bicycle I knew exactly where to look. I can say with complete certainty that I am completely satisfied with this purchase. The bike is high quality and the details on it are beautiful. Your company has a customer for life with me.

One thing to note: I bought an xs bike and with the seat all the way down it was still waaaay too tall for me and I’m 5’5”-5’-6”. I did have to cut the seat post down for a better fit.

Great bike, runs slightly big

Great bike, rides road and trails great, very nice parts for amazing price. I’m 5’ 10” and it definitely is on the bigger side but bought the one for my height range. Something to consider. But a must buy otherwise

Great bike, lackluster accessories

5 stars for the bike, 3 stars for a couple of the accessories.

I was looking for a budget flat bar gravel bike and the all road 4130 hit the major points that I wanted (tubeless ready, chromly, $1000 or less, 650b tires). Not to mention that they had it in stock and ready to ship. There were a few other bikes out there that covered the same things that I wanted in a bike, but were either out of stock temporarily or I would have had to travel to a bike shop when I don't live near any cities big enough to make that easy. So kudos to SBC for having product in stock and ready to go! The bike arrived super fast. I don't know a lot about the details of bike components and just wanted to get out and ride, which is why I went with a budget option. I am happy with how it rides and I put it through the ringer recently when a long ride became far more arduous than I had anticipated and the bike seems to have held up very well. For a sub-$1000 bike that is the type of thing that will make me a repeat customer. And also, the paint job on the white model is GORGEOUS.

A couple of the accessories were a different story. I had the bike assembled at my local shop. I ordered the tubeless conversion kit and had it converted when the bike was assembled. The technician said that the tubeless sealant that came from SBC was useless and they had to use their own at the shop. So the tubeless kit was not worth the money. I should have just bought those components from my shop.

I ordered bottle cages to come with the bike and they come in pairs, however only one arrived with the bike. I had to reach out to SBC about the missing one, but they promptly shipped it at no cost.

Lastly, I ordered the foot retention pedal straps because these looked like a good option for me since I don't use clipless pedals. I have used toe cages in the past but liked the look and feel of these straps. I knew immediately on the first ride that they were poorly designed and would not work out. The rectangular ring on the outside of the strap slips and rotates moving out of place and changing the amount of slack on the strap and making it difficult to get your feet into the straps. Also I ride in areas with lots of plants and branches and they are already fraying and falling apart. Even if the rectangular ring were not a problem, they would not last but a few months due to the material falling apart. I 100% regret spending $35 on these and will be paying for another pedal strap/cage option as soon as I can.
