Nice bike, short stem

I’ve just been riding the bike around town, but so far so good! It’s a lot lighter than my previous bike (surly bridge club).

One thing to be prepared for is buying a longer stem. Fit is personal of course (I’m 6’4”, 34” inseam), but the stem situation is a little funny. Comparing this bike to the drop bar version, the stem on the drop bar version is much longer, and the drop bars themselves add extra reach. The flat bars and shorter stem decrease the reach substantially, so in a way, the flat bar version should have an even longer stem than the drop bar version.

Anyway, I put a 120mm stem on it ($13 on eBay), and it felt good.

Also, the front rotor was out of true.

I know there’s more critique than positives in my review, but now that I’ve got the fit dialed in, I’m very happy with the bike. It might get five stars later once I have the chance to tour or ride off-road a bit!

Great commuter

I went with the State Bicycle 4130 All Road Fiesta mainly due to it being a steel framed bicycle with flat bars for a good price. So far, I have been pretty impressed with how the bike has performed as a commuter.

Pros:
- Plenty of attachment points for racks, bags, etc
- Very comfortable ergos
- Seems fairly sturdy (I already crashed on it once and it held up great)

There are a few cons, mostly being the drivetrain is not great. Even after having the bicycle tuned at a shop, the shifting is slow and clunky and often times skips a gear or two while riding. I've also had the chain thrown off the front ring multiple times while commuting on road. Finally the seat post was a little short. I am 6'3" with a 36" inseam and got the Large frame but needed to buy a longer seat post.

Overall I'm very happy with the bike for the price. Just wish the drivetrain was a little more reliable and smooth but the rest of the bike seems nice enough to warrant upgrading the drivetrain in the future.

Good Frame, Bad Components

I just got this bike a couple weeks ago and have had issues with the drivetrain shifting. I got the 650b wheelset and have been having issues with skipping gears when shifting. The brakes are also not great (but state did put hydraulic brakes on the new bikes which is great!). This bike is also very heavy. I got the smallest size and it is significantly heavier than my partner's steel bike (who uses size large bikes). It is hard to carry this thing or even lift it as a smaller person. I do love the riding position and find it pretty comfortable. But it is disappointing that state's components (brakes and drivetrain) are pretty bad. Also the bike does not do well on hills. I will be buying a smaller tooth chainring but I don't understand why they used a 42t chainring when they could have put on the 38t to make climbs easier. Overall, I'm happy with the frame of the bike, but disappointed with the components.

Great bikepacking rig

I love my all-road so much. I’ve ridden it over 1000 miles on bikepacking trips all over the US this year with zero issues. 10/10 rec for a great, affordable option.

I'm a fan

I liked my first All-Road with drop bars so much I bought the drop bar version. These bikes fit me better than many I've tried in recent years. Between the two bikes I have two 700c wheel sets and one 650b and the ability to switch is nice. They are a little heavier than other bikes as other people have mentioned but they aren't tanks either. I really would want to give these 4.5 stars rather than 4 but I couldn't give a 5 because of small component quality issues. I replaced the derailleurs on both bikes because shifting wasn't always precise. But I still have a problem with missed shifts with the 650b wheel set on both bikes. Seems like the cassette doesn't ramp well in some spots and I might have to switch it out. So overall, great bikes but you might need to make some upgrades to be spot-on

Great Commute Bike

Title. I just started commuting and have some hills, the gear range accommodates nicely, and the size feels right for me (6' 2" - Medium Frame 650b). The box was slightly damaged and upon arrival the derailleur hanger got bent, I messaged customer support and they sent me a replacement part right away. Overall great experience with the bike and company so far, will recommend to friends and family

No-fuss, No-frills

Plain and simple, this bike shreds. I currently have it outfitted with the 700c tires and an upgraded saddle. I got this baby assembled and weve been out on the road ever since. After about 125 miles, all my cables needed adjustment as expected but outside of that, Ive had no issues and only fun times with my bike. Shifting is reliable and snappy, steering isnt overly responsive but not soft either. For the price, this bike is incredibly capable. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who needs a dependable every day cruiser that can also go out for 30 mile rides on varying terrain.

Nice bike

I wanted this bike after seeing it in one of my magazines. I did buy it from another seller that had an xsmall available. I only got the 650b wheels bc I already have my main roadie. This one is for gravel use. Much lighter than the mtb I was riding on gravel. I swapped the tires right away to a more gravel tire and not the knobby ones that came on it. Put my own saddle on it and it rides great!

I have only had a half dozen rides on my new State 4130 All Road flat bar, but I am in love! The geometry of the bike is just what I was looking for. Handles well on road and on gravel rides as well. The 1X gear system makes for a carefree and fun ride. Get this beauty if you are looking for fun on and off road!
