Solid Road Fixie

It's a solid bike. my first impression was that it's an attractive bike, and light weight. Now... I don't live in the nicest neighborhood, so noticed that everyone kept turning heads. I didn't like that. that's why this bike stays inside when not in use. at the price I paid, i'm guarding this bike 24/7. when I ride, I make sure to go to the richer areas. I feel more safe. I like this bike because it's very light weight and I can carry it with one hand, easy. this bike hits fast speeds quick, which is good just in case I need to outrun someone. I don't come from a nice neighborhood but I still like quality products and this bike is THAT. it's sturdy and comfortable to ride in. I recommend though a different seat than the default saddle; it hurts after a while. so I might just change it out later. overall its a great fixie road bike. will probably buy another in the future once I get that master's degree. any future customers are not going to be disappointed with this bike. i highly recommend.

An Excellent Bike at an Excellent price!

Coming from a Vice 2.0 4130 State Bicycle, I was long overdue for an upgrade. The Black Label was the obvious next step for me. From a looks perspective the Black Label Series has to be one of the best-looking frames in the State Bicycle lineup. The bigger diameter downtube on the Black Label gives the bike a unique appearance that stands out from the rest and compliments the geometry of the bike.

The components the bike comes with are solid and get the job done. I went back and forth swapping drops to risers and back to drops, eventually settling for the Black Label risers. They were comfortable and just look good. Ive heard from friends say the saddle is not comfy but that is all preference and ymmv.

Having put over 1200 miles on my Black Label I am happy to say I have had zero issues with the bike and just enjoy the hell out of it. 

Buttery smooth

Had this bike for two weeks so far and have absolutely no complaints at all. I absolutely love it. Feels great and looks great. This is my second State Bicycle, the first being a 4130. Both have been great and am looking forward to breaking it in some more!

Just buy one already

These are really solid full builds for the price, especially on sale. Had mine for 2 years now and I couldn't imagine not owning it. Since getting it I've lost 50 lbs, gotten plugged into local cycling scene and had soo much fun it's unreal.

The frame is really good to build off of and when your ready to upgrade it is super easy to find really great parts since the sizing is pretty standard(stem, seat post, bottom bracket). Only issue I ever had was a slightly noisy BB after about 800 miles, but at that time I was ready to upgrade crankset and BB with it. There are plenty of cost effective options if replacement was needed.

State's customer service is dope and if you have a ride shop near you then you're super set up for success

Long story short, get one, ride the sh*t out of it. You won't regret it.

Great quality and super smooth but...

I love the bike, carbon fork is amazing, super light, and overall a great bike. But the way I received it was disappointing, the lock ring and cog had a warning sticker on it to tighten it, I did as hard as I could and yet it still slipped when I put power into the cranks. Then after about a day of riding the cranks/bottom bracket began to feel loose after about 30 miles on the bike, I used an Allen key and got 3 FULL TURNS. My only advice to State Bicycle co. please just tighten the bolts to spec rather than CYA for when something goes wrong and you can say you have a little sticker on it. Its a $700 fixed gear for christ sake.

STATE BLACK LABEL

After shopping around for a new fixed gear I narrowed my search down to 2 brands and I went with the State Black Label. I have bought State parts over the years but never had a complete State bike. I have been a fixie rider for around 10 years now and knew of State way back then. I finally decided to get a State fixed gear bike this holiday season and man I will never regret that decision. Without making a long drawn out speech, this is the smoothest fixed gear bike I have ever rode. Everything about this bike is A1 and that goes for the color and overall look. I plan on getting the Black Label raw once they are back in stock. If you are riding the fence on getting a State Black Label or your not sure and thinking of going with another brand I'm telling you State is the way to go and on top of that I got my bike 4 days after I ordered. State is my new go to for a complete fixed gear set up.

The 6061 Black Label Series is the perfect tool for navigating the streets. Built on an agile and ultra-light, double-butted 6061 Aluminum frame with a tapered head tube and featuring an Essor USA full carbon fork, the Black Label Series is a stiff and responsive ride.

The Black Label Series complete builds are available in a wide range of colors, including ultra-limited single production-run colorways and are stacked deep with premier parts and components. The CNC’d crank set is lightweight but rigid, featuring a 144 BCD that allows for a wide variety of chainring options. A set of mid-profile wheels equipped with low-flange, sealed hubs are durable enough to take a beating on the city streets, but light enough for competition or endurance rides. With the Black Label Series, you have the option to choose either stylish, wide riser bars or compact drop bars that provide comfort and quick transitions between hand positions.
