Not too shabby. Rear dropouts were out of alignment (vertically, so likely manufacturing defect rather than shipping treatment) but with a steady hand you can barely notice it while riding.
The paint on fork was chipped, but this should be expected by anyone who has done their research on State before ordering - this is a 200 dollar frame after all.
At 7lb 4oz (55cm) definitely on the heavier side of the steel frame market, even in this price range.
Dependable pounder though.
Great price. Great value.
Nice reliable replacement frame. Sturdy and smooth stainless steel. Ready to pour miles on it.
Frame is pretty light and looks clean haven't got to ride it because the headset did not come installed. I spoke with some one from the company and i was told that if i purchase a frame and fork that the headset would come installed, because of what a company rep told me a i did not purchase any tools to install the headset. now i have to wait till Thursday for my tools, its not a huge deal i just have to wait a lil longer to ride. but if i was given the right info at the start i could have prepared for this is all im saying
Deducting 1 star for lack of accessory mounts at the rear dropouts but that's only because I was looking to replace the damaged frame of my single speed commuter. Otherwise, a solid, budget-minded frame for a bare bones single speed/fixie build.
I had purchased a Kilo TT bike a few years ago, and left it out in the winter and the chromoly frame rusted out. I pick up a new chromoly frame from State. It’s almost identical to my old frame, almost all my old parts fit, and it rides wonderfully!
If I get as much use out of my bike this year as I expect, I might by an aluminum one in the next year or two!
Got this 62cm frame to replace a 64cm Pure Fix frame (similar reach and stand over) after it was bent in a collision with a vehicle. The build quality of the State is far superior.
I still haven't used it yet. But the overall experience with the purchase and shipping was great.
The frame is beautiful and lightweight. Steel is real. Most parts are ok. But the pedals and handlebars... My God they're cheap. Bullhorns don't even come with the dents to keep them in place, so you have to over tight the screws for it to stay in place.
