My second SBC bike, still incredibly happy with the products

Arrived in pristine condition and within 4-5 days of shipping. Still so insanely happy with the quality of these bikes, how smoothly they ride right out of the box. Will be back for my 3rd SBC bike as soon as I can afford it.

      Pretty Good!

I like this bike a lot, and I only have two quibbles. First, the front wheel needed to be trued and dished, so that cost me extra money at a bike shop. Second, the handlebars are a millimeter or so wider in diameter than a standard bar, so the Deity Knuckleduster lock on grips that I bought will not fit. Other than those two things, it's pretty good for such a cheap bike, and I would recommend it to anyone on a budget. Oh, and I did upgrade the tires to Conti Grand Prix 4-Seasons, which give the bike a much nicer ride than the cheap Chinese tires that came on it.

      Good deal

I put almost 100 miles on my 4130 Core Line Carolina the first week and it's a comfortable, good handling bike. I've been a road cyclist for 35 years and have recently wanted to learn to ride fixed gear, so I spent weeks researching the best bang for the buck and decided on a State Core Line. I'm getting a lot of compliments on the looks and, I have to say, the paint job is beautiful. The fit is working out well so I won't have to replace the stem, which I kind of expected, so that's good. I have lots of old bike parts lying around and I did put on one of my old Selle San Marco saddles, and some Look Keo pedals, and that will probably be all of the customization I'll need for a while...but, I'm a bit of a bike nerd, so eventually there will be more stuff.
The Core Line seems to be a very good deal, at least for someone like me, just getting into fixie riding. And the frame and fork looks to be a good platform if you want to elaborate on your vision. I do have one suggestion: Maybe offer the option of a crowned fork to give a more "old school" look. I would have paid extra for that.
I'm 60 years old and can sometimes be difficult to impress, but I feel good about recommending this bike.

      Love this bike!

I've been keeping an eye on State Bicycle for a couple of years now. The 4130 was always on my list of potential first single speed bikes, but none of the color schemes really spoke to me. As soon as I saw this Carolina blue on black design, I was sold. I initially planned to order the bike direct and assemble it myself, but I actually have a State Bicycle dealer in my city. I stopped by the shop to see if I could throw a leg over a few State Bicycles and I'm really glad I did. I'm 5'9" and according to State's sizing chart, that would put me on a 55" frame. My local shop actually had 4130s in 55" and 52" in stock. The shop owner advised that I go with the 52" and I have to say it was the best advice I could have received. The 52" fits perfectly, while the 55" felt a tad too big for my 30" inseam. I ended up ordering the bike through my bike shop, and had them handle the assembly at no extra charge. This also means my bike is covered by State's warranty, and I also got a free year of service from the bike shop. Win, win.

This bike is a pleasure to ride. It feels just as light and nimble as my old 2007 Trek 1600 road bike. I went with bullhorn bars and I've found them to be comfortable and familiar, as the upturned ends feel very similar to the hoods on road bike bars I've been accustomed to. The only criticism I have is that it would be nice to have another set of bosses to mount a second bottle cage, but it's not a big deal.
