Everything was straight and as advertised. I heavily suggest greasing everything and getting wheels trued before riding. Frame had some paint / finish flaws. Overall, the bike is awesome. Blast to ride and beautiful color.
It's super fun to ride and looks great too. The wheels were out of true when they came but no other mechanical issues so far! I upgraded the seat and pedals for my liking, over all it's a solid bike. I'm 5'3 with a 29in inseam and got the 46cm, it's a pretty good fit. My bf's jealous of the slick sparkly purple.
Bike feels great out of the box. Assembly was reasonably easy.
Overall riding feel is stable and fun.
Drivetrain is responsive and the stock ratio is fine for a little climbing as long as you are happy to hurt a little.
Generally good value for money and great if you want a project bike to customize that rides nice out of the box.
Small dent in the frame but not significant enough to go through the hassle of returning.
the paint work is a little mediocre in general. Lets say It looks great from a distance or going by at 25 mph.
I had to disassemble and properly grease all of the screws, hub bolts, lock-ring etc. Not a big deal just know this is an important step if you are assembling yourself.
Bar tape... not sure why you are wrapped backwards.
Chainring could be better (the teeth look a little rough but it still feels pretty good when you put down some power)
Things I upgraded in the first 2 weeks / immediately
Pedals = Odyssey Platforms with Hold Fast Straps
Saddle = ISM PN 1.1
Bartape = fi'zi:k tempo microtex
I am super stoked on this bike especially after the upgrades I mentioned. It would have been 5 stars had it not been for the dent and the sloppy paint work.
Nightshade – 4130 Core-Line
Crank is a little creaky but nevertheless good bike all around
Solid bike. Looks great.
Great bike, very fun to ride. Getting a lot of compliments esp from other fixie/SS cyclists. Looks amazing.
I love it! My hope was to find a bike that is better suited for the hilly landscape that I traverse. This bike moves quickly and more effortlessly. The seat isn't terribly comfortable but would be easy to upgrade. I also love the beautiful purple color, and it sparkles in the sunlight!
Bought the bike based on raving reviews. However, I am 5'1 (27 inseam) and i can BARELY reach the ground stand over the top tube on tip toed (nowhere near the 2-3 inch clearance suggested by the merchant). It is very disappointing that I followed the guide, match all the criteria, even emailed a rep to confirm before purchasing, spent $70 on assembly, $20 bucks taxi to the bike shop, and now have to an additional $60 to disassemble & ship this thing back. For a company of this caliber, I would have think there would be more accountability on the part of the merchant to at least offer free return shipping. Rep was super nice (hence the 2 star)...unfortunately the company policy was not as helpful as I had hoped. Overall poor experience.
