Best value in fixed gear

This is my second Undefeated from SBC and even as the inflation of bicycle components continues to rise, State still manages to offer an enormous value for your dollar. My first Undefeated was from 2017 and had some big-name and legit components from SRAM, Ritchey USA and FSA; back then it was insane to find all that value for less than 1500. Fast forward a few years and most of the components bear no name but State somehow managed to find a great compromise to still deliver a no-nonsense race-ready bike, if that's your thing. As they say the frame is the heart of the bicycle anyway and this one is no exception to State's history of offering riders the best value per dollar in fixed/single gear. I actually sized up on the frame from 52 to 55 after noting that the 52 was suited for short crits but not a good all-rounder at my height for my varied rides, so I can't comment on the new Y9 over the 7075 aluminum from my previous frame in regards of weight. I will say that it is plenty light at about 16.6 lbs fully kitted up. I think sizing up was the best decision as the extra stack height creates a more natural pedal stroke, little to no lower back pain and I can stay in the saddle for longer before feeling tapped out. I opted for the stock Essor Aerodash and it's responsive, plenty stiff for quick takeoffs and smooth sprints, just plain buttery. I put 7500km on my first Undefeated so I'm familiar with the snappy, light Essor Bolt v2 wheelset-they are a zippy, stiff and strong aluminum wheelset that I would recommend to anyone wanting to upgrade a current State or other bike. My favorite part of this bike is the full carbon fork from Essor USA, which helps absorb excess front-end vibrations and is insanely strong- I can corner with ease. There is a slight rubbing sound in the headset, I'm gonna attribute that to the new fit and hope it dissipates after several break-in rides. I have somewhat long arms so I will likely have to change to a longer stem but I didn't notice any outstanding discomfort on my rides. I originally sent for a pearl/tie-dye but the stealthy, non-garish Graphite/Prism is starting to grow on me and it makes for more opportunities to add color pops with bar tape if needed. I love the head turns when the light catches the prism decals, it's a nice, subtle flash that also helps strengthen the pro look of the kit. Since I saved so much money on an already killer set up I will be upgrading some parts soon to dial in my comfort a bit more. Thanks again State for making affordable but QUALITY bicycles!

Handling and assembly was okay.

My bike came with 4 deep scratches. And the lock ring was extremely loose.

Amazing

I just want to say that the undefeated is an amazing spec for the price, right out of the box. The crankset is really nice and feels good on the street. I replaced the Maxis tires with some continental and the saddle. Love this ride.

Bang for your buck!

Haven’t had a track bike in some time but can still tell how much value there is in this bike for the money. Lightweight, nimble and top quality. If you’re in the market for something in this price range, look no further. Rides like an absolute dream.

Fantastic

My first fixie and first new bike in a number of years. Rides great and has a light and responsive ride. Also has a “sturdy” feel for such a nimble bike..:: putting the miles on rapidly and highly recommend it

Nothing but pleased!

I bought this bike as an intro to single speed riding in the city and I can’t say anything other than I’m super pleased! I’ve been a professional bike mechanic for around 8 years now and this bike outta the box requires minimal additional adjustments to make perfect but would recommend a check over. This bike is aggressive but still suitable for long rides. I currently have the gear ratio set up as 49t-16t and I live in San Francisco and I can knock out 40+ mile rides with hills with little to no pain even with the bars slammed. I highly recommend this bike to anyone who is looking to get into fixie riding or single speed freewheel riding. It’s the best bang for your buck period. Not to mention it is a very attractive color. The logo pops in the sun! I was a little skeptical of the crankset but after over 400+ miles these last 3 months they’ve held up fine and still look great! Also nice and stiff so you can out down the power confidently.

Best bike ever!

This is my first fixed gear. I have been using a Giant Contend 1 for that past 7 years. That was my first road bike. I used it to commute to my first job and then went to college. It still is a really good bike, but I wanted to get something that wasn't an entry level road bike. I was thinking of getting a fixed gear bike because I only usually use 2 speeds out of the 8 because I live in a relatively flat area. My commute is 16 miles per day to my new job and back. My friend told me about State Bicycle. I searched on their website and I went all out and bought the Undefeated Track Fixed Gear Prism from State Bicycle. I have been riding it for a month now and wow this bike is amazing! The gear ratio of 48-16 is perfect for where I live! I can go up small hills and absolutely fly on flat land. The Aluminum/Titanium frame and carbon fork makes for an amazing ride. It's so responsive. It just feels amazing. It's not too light and not too heavy. I will be riding this bike for a long time. Down the line I would like to see if I can get disc brakes or carbon fiber wheels. Maybe I will increase the gear ratio. Like I said, that is down the line. I have everything I need with this bike already. If you have any doubts then don't doubt any longer! You will not be let down! I will post pictures soon.

Undefeated Track - Graphite / Prism
stealthy metallic paint with color transforming prism decals

The new Undefeated line-up has been re-engineered with Y9 aluminum, based on 6061 Aluminium but with added titanium, giving it improved hardness and tensile strength over its predecessor. This new-alloy composition allows for the thinnest possible wall thickness to be used, thereby reducing overall weight.

Straight out of the box, the Undefeated is a race-ready beast of a machine built upon the original Undefeated's winning pedigree. Designed for mastering fixed gear crits, The Undefeated is our lightest production frame ever, featuring Y9 double-butted aluminum alloy tubing, an oversized tapered head tube and an Essor USA full carbon fork that come together to create a stiff, responsive, and fast ride.

The Undefeated complete build features premier, competition-grade components. The Essor USA Aerodash Crankset is built with 7075 aluminum and uses an external bottom bracket to ensure maximum power transfer, while the seamless construction promotes smooth airflow over the crank for greater aerodynamics. The Essor USA Bolt v2 Wheel Set features a large cutout flange design on the hubs to improve stress distribution while also reducing weight; making the wheel set light enough for competition and durable enough to take a beating on the streets. Compact Drop Bars round out the complete build by providing comfort and quick transitions between hand placements.

Our most responsive and powerful machine yet boasts nothing but premier parts and components, making the Undefeated II the favorite track in track and fixed-gear racing.
