Super color-Steel is real-medium brakes

I really like my 4130- perplexing purple, this color is really rad.
Not having gears has changed my commute, it is a workout now!
I will have to upgrade the brake pads they are waxy crap.

Love this bike!!!

I can't say enough good things about this bike!!! It's light, quiet, and so speedy! Absolutely love the minimalist purple and black; it's so cool and unique without feeling too flashy. My previous bike was a vintage Schwinn road bike and I was worried I'd miss the gears going down to a single speed, but I haven't looked back. Seth at State answered all my questions and was super helpful in choosing the right size – I'm 5'4" and right on the edge between 49 and 52cm, and they advised the smaller size which worked out perfectly. Super recommend!

Great bicycle, but some issues getting started

I love this bike. However, the tubes were old and deflated shortly after I left the shop. Also, the lock that keeps the back wheel fixed was loose and that was giving me some problems after I managed to get some working tubes. Currently experiencing some creaking and clanging whenever I go over a bump at too high speed, hoping to figure out what the issue is soon. The color and look and feel of the bike is great, I’m hoping to get all the kinks worked out soon.

We’ve had a state bicycle in the family for a while and loved it. When my wife wanted her own, we ordered. She’s petite and the first bike arrived was too big. She loved it and was afraid to return it thinking she might not get the same bike or would to wait a while to get the replacement. We reached out to state with all of our questions and they were prompt and kind to help ease our minds. Not only that, the new bike arrived way sooner than expected and the refund process was effortless. My wife is riding around town with a huge smile. We’re glad we keep State in the family and when the kids are ready, we will purchase State for them as well.

Love This Bike!

This is my third State Bicycle and easily my favorite. I’ve always been impressed by the quality for the price. Definitely take this one to be built by a bike shop. One brake cable came in too short, which was easily replaced by the shop, but would’ve been difficult to do on my own. This is the reason for four stars. It was good to have professional eyes look it over and troubleshoot this. Happy with my purchase and love how it rides!

Amazing Bike

I absolutely love this bike. The purple is actually super cool, the bike is really light, and I am glad I customized my bike with the drop bar handlebars. It is a smooth bike to ride. Being that it is a single gear bike, it really challenges you when it comes to elevations. I am use to this as I have rode BMX most of my teenage years and my early 20s. The only thing I would point out are the reflectors on the wheels need to be tightened a lot and I wish I could get a preview of the pedals when ordering. I wasn’t expecting the standard pedals to be metal. Overall, great road/commuting type bike for riders in flat areas.

Amazingly smooth, beautiful

I love this bike. People compliment the color all the time, and it is so fast and sturdy. I pretty much immediately switched over to fixed gear, and it was really easy with the hub. It rides almost completely silently. I highly recommend

Comes partially built so the rest is super easy to do and customizable to a certain extent! Really easy to ride, comfy, and light. I love this bike!

Feel Like a Kid Again

I bought a bike because the gym isn't an option at the present time, but I was unprepared for how much fun it is to ride a bike in the fresh air. I am fortunate to live in a good neighborhood with a lot of hills, and the single speed really gets the heart pumping. I'm trying to convince my wife she needs one too so she can ride with me!

The 4130 Steel Line earned its namesake from the double-butted 4130-grade chromoly steel used on the frame and fork that maximizes strength without making compromises on weight. Internal cable routing, seat stay rack mounts, water bottle cage mounts, a flip-flop hub, and integrated chain tensioners provide versatility while maintaining the clean aesthetic State Bicycle Co. is known for. Drilled high-flange hubs, an open faceplate stem, and the CNC’d seat post clamp not only look great but also help to shave some additional weight.

The latest 4130 Steel Line models feature a subtle but stylish ‘STATE’ logo on the down tube and an updated ‘SBC’ head tube logo. Limited production runs, designer color ways not seen anywhere else, and the ability to customize your bike by selecting your handlebar style and wheel set all combine to make sure you have a bike as unique as you are.
