The $449 Core Line models are the foundation of the State Bicycle Co. line-up.  All models come with 4130 grade Cromoly steel; the lightest and strongest steel in cycling. Each bike comes with 43mm deep-v style wheels, a flip-flop hub (for fixed or freewheel riding), and quality, durable components.  All Core Line models are designed with unique color ways to give each model it's own identity and style.  These color ways are produced in limited quantities before being retired for good — most color ways last for 6 months to 1 year before they are retired. Each model comes with the choice of 4 handlebar styles and 6 frame sizes to make sure you get the exact bicycle you've been dreaming of.

[FAQs]
[Q] Do the bicycles come assembled?
[A] The bicycle will ship “90% assembled”, which means you will need to attach the handlebars, saddle, pedals, front wheels, and a few other minor parts, as well as adjusting, tightening, and tuning. It is possible to build with moderate knowledge of bicycles, however, State Bicycle Co. highly encourages all bicycles to be built by a professional. The bicycle will be safer and will ride drastically better when assembled and tuned properly – in other words, don’t just “throw it together”. It is also possible to ship your order directly to a bicycle shop for assembly.

[Q] What size bike is shown in product photos?
[A] All studio photos of bikes are 55cm besides City Bikes, which are 52cm.

[Q] Do State Bicycles come with brakes and pedals ?
[A] Yes. All State Bicycles will come with a front & rear brake and pedals with toe cages. Often times the bicycles are photographed without pedals and brakes, which is for artistic and aesthetic purposes only.

[Q] When will I receive my bike?
[A] We ship several times per week using UPS Ground, USPS, or in come cases FedEx. Tracking numbers will be provided at shipment.

[Q] Do the bicycles come with a warranty?
[A] Our bikes come with a 1 year warranty. For more information please visit : statebicycle.com/pages/warranty

Excellent everyday commuter

My LaFleur is my first fixed-gear bike, and the first bike that I've ever purchased brand new. I bought it on the recommendation of friends who also had State bikes. I was a little nervous about purchasing a bike sight unseen, and some of the reviews out there that I assume come from more experienced fixie riders (and people who are used to spending a couple grand on a bike) had me worried about the build quality. But I ride it in to my job every day, and it's given me no problems at all. I've probably put three or four hundred miles on it since June, and it actually feels better — and gives me a cleaner, smoother ride — than it did when I first purchased it. I couldn't be more delighted.

Also, when my package arrived without the chain lock I ordered, State sent me one quickly and without charge, and were deeply apologetic despite my suspicions that it was the carrier's fault.
