My name is Chris Stuart and I am the current 30-39 Fat bike National Champion. So, I’m pretty much a big deal…. not really. Jokes aside, I’m a huge advocate of cycling in all its disciplines. I have raced on the road, mountain, cyclo-cross and I now ride fat bikes. All these different avenues have taken me to amazing places and have given me significant memories. I live in Park City, Utah and ride on its more than 400 miles of single track trails. I won The Megalith (as you can see below) from Fat-Bike.com by calling into their weekly podcast hour which State Bicycle Co. sponsored. Now, I’m a proud owner of The Megalith!

If you’re looking for a bike that will turn heads, State Bicycle Co.'s Megalith is the bike for you. The Megalith’s flashy paint job and giant wheels make it really stand out. With its stock build, it’s a bike that one could commute to work on or meet up with friends at a local pub. It’s not going to be the fastest bike out there but you’ll be comfortable on those fat bike 4-inch tires that provide great traction in the snow (if you’re running the tire pressure low).

The chromoly frame makes those longer rides even that much more enjoyable. Not only is it a smooth ride but you will be looking good while on it! One of the coolest features of the bike is the bottle opener that comes already mounted to the seat tube for those after-ride cold ones. The fit of the bike is great for me (6’1”) but with just one size offered, it might not be great for everyone.

This bike is also dirt capable and makes the skinny tire cyclists jealous of all the traction you get with giant tires.  It comes as a single speed setup but can be easily converted to a geared, go-anywhere machine.  A few component upgrades made my single-speed Megalith a trail ready bike. Overall, if you’re looking for an entry level fat bike that has the capabilities of becoming a trail shredder, you can’t overlook Megalith.
