4130 All-Road - Frameset (UDH | External Routing) - Black Stone
Our versatile steel workhorse

The 4130 All-Road frameset in its simplest form.

Double-butted 4130 chromoly frame and matching chromoly fork, UDH dropouts, thru-axles front and rear, and completely external cable routing — so the first build is faster and every service after it is simpler.

Clearance for 650b x 2.4" or 700c x 2.25" means one frame covers two very different bikes. Long 450mm chainstays, a slack front end, and a low bottom bracket keep it calm on loose ground. Headset, thru-axles, UDH hanger, and cable guides included.

Get ready to conquer the road less traveled — with nothing hidden inside the frame.

The 4130 All-Road frameset in its simplest form. Double-butted 4130 chromoly frame and matching chromoly fork, UDH dropouts, thru-axles front and rear, and completely external cable routing.

Whether you're hitting gravel, loading up for a bikepacking trip, or building a commuter you'll actually enjoy riding, this is the frame that gets out of your way.

Why external routing

Internal routing looks clean. It also means fishing housing through a frame, dealing with internal guides that rattle, and occasionally pulling a bottom bracket out to chase a cable that won't feed.

Everything on this frame runs outside, where you can see it, adjust it, and replace it. Cable stops and guides are right there. Swapping a shift cable is a twenty-minute job with a set of cutters, not an afternoon with a magnet and a bent spoke.

On a frameset that matters more than it does on a complete bike, because you're the one doing the build. The first assembly is faster, and every service after that is simpler.

It also keeps the frame cheaper to make, which is the honest reason it exists — this is the affordable way into the All-Road platform.

UDH

Universal Derailleur Hanger dropouts. A replacement is available at virtually any shop, anywhere in the world — no proprietary part to source after a crash on a trip.

It also opens the door to modern direct-mount drivetrains if you ever want to go that direction, without needing a different frame to do it.

Room for real rubber

Clearance for mountain bike tires on a steel gravel frame:

  • 650b / 27.5": up to 2.4" (60mm)
  • 700c / 29": up to 2.25" (57mm)

That's the range that makes this frame worth building twice. A 650b wheelset with 2.1" or 2.4" knobbies turns it into something genuinely capable off-road. A 700c wheelset with something fast turns it into a quick commuter. Same frame, two bikes, one purchase.

Actual fitment varies with rim width and tire brand — a 2.25" on a wide rim measures wider than the same tire on a narrow one.

The geometry

Long chainstays, a slack front end, and a low bottom bracket. Every number here is doing the same job.

  • 450mm rear center across every size — a long rear end tracks straight on loose surfaces and stays planted when the bike is loaded
  • 70.5° to 71.5° head angle — slack by gravel standards, so the front wheel leads rather than darts and washboard doesn't push the bars around
  • 75mm BB drop — low, which puts your weight below the axles and is what makes a bike feel confident in corners and on off-camber dirt
  • 45mm fork offset across every size — consistent steering feel from XS to L

The result is a bike that's calm. It won't feel twitchy on a fire road descent and it won't fight you when the surface changes mid-corner.

Built on standards you can actually build on

Frame & Cockpit
  • 1-1/8" threadless steerer
  • 27.2mm seatpost
  • 68mm BSA threaded BB
  • Completely external routing
Drivetrain
  • UDH dropouts
  • 1x or 2x compatible
  • Square taper or external BB, your choice
  • Threaded BB — nothing to press
Wheels & Brakes
  • 12x100mm front thru-axle
  • 12x142mm rear thru-axle
  • Flat mount disc brakes
  • 650b or 700c

No press-fit bottom bracket to creak. No proprietary seatpost. No internal routing to fight. Nothing on this frame will be hard to find a part for in ten years.

Sizing

  • XS (43cm) — riders 5'1" – 5'6"
  • S (47cm) — riders 5'6" – 6'1"
  • M (51cm) — riders 5'9" – 6'2"
  • L (55cm) — riders 6'1" – 6'6"

Sizes overlap on purpose. If you fall between two, the smaller size gives a more nimble, upright fit and the larger one stretches you out. Full numbers — reach, stack, standover, and wheelbase for every size — are on our geometry chart.

What's included

  • Frame
  • Fork
  • 1-1/8" threadless headset
  • Thru-axles, front and rear (M12, 100mm front / 142mm rear)
  • Universal Derailleur Hanger
  • Cable guides

Everything else is yours to choose. The headset, axles, and hanger being included matters more than it sounds — they're the small parts that are easy to forget when you're ordering a build, and the ones that stop the project dead when they don't show up.
