Superior quality that doesn't break the bank

So finding a bike that is cost efficient and high quality is hard these days throw in the fact that I'm a larger guy (300) it's virtually impossible well search no more this bike looks great rides smooth and can easily handle a larger rider and you won't break the bank. I had many questions before my purchase and there sales associates answered all my questions with ease and quickness. A+ company in my book

Great looking bike

Just had local bike shop assemble this bike for me . I have only ridden it a few blocks and excited to ride more as it seems very fun and a change of pace from riding gravel style bike. Will return to give another review after getting some rides in. Great looking bike that dosnt break the bank when compared to other similar bikes

Far out fat fun

I have wanted try out a fat bike for a few years. This was an easy way to add an n+1 during the black Friday sale. Bike is solid and the components are great for the money. I swapped out the seat post and stem for my fit. The paint is gorgeous. It rides great and the 4.5" tires eat up any trail. Bring on the snow.

I love this bike but…

Bike is amazing and I am very happy with it BUT… there is no kickstand, State doesn’t even make one for it ala cart so now I have to Frankenstein something on it…

A Ton of Fun

The 6061 is an absolute blast to ride. I have had it out in snow, soft sand, and legit single track and the bike does everything my full suspension mountain bikes will do but with more fun. There is something silly about a fat bike and you certainly aren't going anywhere fast but it doesn't matter because your to busy just enjoying the ride. State has done a great job with the 6061, there is no way you can find a better bike at the price point. Just buy one, you won't regret it.

Fun Kid Hauler

I have had my State Fat Bike since April of 2024 and have loved it so far. I got it for a very good price because I am a State Bicycle Co ambassador, but I’m going to do this review without factoring any discounts in.

The pros:

• Really cool color. I get a lot of compliments
• Decent enough brakes
• Smooth shifting, reliable drivetrain
• Comfortable geometry for me
• Attainable price
• Something about riding a fat bike is just fun

The Cons:

• This bike is HEAVY and a lot of the weight comes from the wheels. I’ve been riding it mainly as a kid hauler with a Kids Ride Shotgun saddle, so I don’t notice the weight much on flat bike paths and canal paths, but I definitely notice on the climbs when I actually take it on trails without my kid.
• On the subject of weight (which is mostly the wheels), State opted to use older hub spacing for these wheels which unfortunately means upgrading to a lighter wheelset is a little difficult.
• The 1x9 drivetrain, while reliable and crisp, could definitely use more gears to haul around this tank of a bike. Luckily upgrading the groupset isn’t difficult and used parts are plentiful to save cost. I will probably end up changing the drivetrain eventually to a 1x11 or 1x12 to make climbing a little easier. That would be cheaper than upgrading the wheels I believe at this point.

My Verdict:

• Overall, I really like this bike, but it’s not completely free of things to complain about. For the price point, if one wants a fun bike to cruise around on and do some light trails, this bike is great as long as you don’t do too much climbing. If you buy this bike expecting to easily take on thousands of feet of elevation gain, you may want to save a little extra money to throw on some more gears and maybe some lighter parts (seatpost, bars, stem, etc)

Love My New 6061 Fat Bike!

I was looking for a quality fat bike that wouldn't break the bank, and I definitely found it with the 6061. It rides smoothly and looks pretty snazzy! My only upgrade may be to swap out the cassette to add a bit more climbing power. Otherwise I love it!

Everything I wanted

I live next to the beach, a national refuge, and a state park. This gives me access to loose and hard packed sand, gravel, single track trails, and bumpy unpaved roads. The 6061 Trail+ Fat Bike has been great in all these conditions. I'm very happy with my purchase.
