4130 Trail - Mountain Bike - Sagebrush Green - SRAM Eagle AXS
Built to Shred, Priced to Send
Tough as nails, now with nothing to knock out of adjustment. The 4130 Trail with SRAM Eagle Transmission takes our no-BS steel hardtail and bolts the derailleur straight through the frame — no hanger to bend, no limit screws to set, no cable to stretch. Wireless shifting that completes under full power, standing, mid-climb, and 520% of range from a 10–52t cassette. Double-butted 4130 chromoly, RockShox Psylo Silver RC with 35mm stanchions, and progressive trail geometry BIKE Magazine said "has no business being under $2,000." Battery and charger included.

Tough as nails, now with no hanger and no cables. The State Bicycle Co. 4130 Trail with SRAM Eagle Transmission takes our no-BS steel trail machine and gives it the drivetrain that stopped being a wear item. Wireless shifting that completes under full power, a derailleur bolted straight to the frame, and 520% of range from a 10–52t cassette.

Why Transmission changes things
There's no derailleur hanger. A hanger is a deliberately soft piece of aluminum designed to bend before your frame does — good in a crash, bad every other day. Hangers bend a little every time the bike falls over, gets loaded in a truck, or catches a rock, and a hanger a degree out of true makes a perfectly good drivetrain shift badly.
The S1000 derailleur clamps directly around the rear axle through the frame's UDH dropout, referencing the frame itself instead of a sacrificial tab. Trail hits, transport, a bike that shifted in the back of the truck — none of it moves this out of alignment. And there's no hanger alignment to check, ever, because there's no hanger.
There are no limit screws. None. The mounting interface guarantees position, so setup is a short printed procedure you follow once using the marked Setup Cog on the cassette. No B-gap. No indexing to chase across a season.
It shifts under full power. The derailleur's firmware knows the physical geometry of the cassette — where every tooth sits and where in the chain's rotation each cog is ready to receive it — so it times the shift instead of just moving sideways and hoping. Standing, mid-climb, out of a corner: the shift you'd normally back off for is just a shift.
520% of range
The XS-1270 cassette runs 10–52t. That's 520% of range from a single ring — a top gear for fire roads and flat transfers, and a 52-tooth bailout that turns a steep, loose, technical climb from a hike-a-bike into a ride.
And it mounts to a standard HG freehub. Every other Eagle Transmission cassette requires an XD driver body, which usually means buying a driver — or a whole rear wheel — on top of the drivetrain. SRAM built the XS-1270 to fit the splined HG freehub that's been on mountain bikes for two decades. It's rated for aluminum and steel drivers, and approved for e-MTB duty.
Gears 8 through 12 also come off as a replaceable cluster rather than being pinned permanently into the stack — so when the climbing cogs wear out, you replace that section instead of the whole cassette.
Quick Features
- SRAM Eagle Transmission, Wireless: S1000 T-Type derailleur, XS-1270 10–52t cassette, AXS Pod controller. Battery and charger included.
- Progressive Trail Geometry: A slack 65° head angle, low-slung top tube, and long front-center keep things stable when the trail gets rowdy while maintaining playful agility in the corners.
- Double-Butted 4130 Chromoly Steel Frame: Tougher than aluminum and smoother than carbon, our double-butted 4130 Chromoly frame absorbs trail chatter and takes a beating without flinching.
- RockShox Psylo Silver RC — 130mm Travel, 35mm Stanchions: 35mm upper tubes for steering precision on technical descents, with a Motion Control damper, Solo Air spring, and premium bushings that cut friction over rough ground.
- UDH Frame: Not just compatible — required, and put to work. The hangerless derailleur mounts through it.
- Internal Dropper Routing: 31.6mm seat tube with internal routing — or skip the routing entirely and go wireless. Both options below.
- Threaded Bottom Bracket (73mm BSA): Reliable, creak-free, and easy to service.
- More Mounting Points: Triple bottle cage mounts on the downtube — because adventure doesn't come with limits.

Choose Your Wheelset
- WTB i30 TCS tubeless-ready rims — wide profile for tire support and traction

- WTB Trailboss TCS 29 x 2.4" tubeless-ready tires — aggressive tread for grip and speed
- Tubeless valves included
- WR1 Convergence carbon rims, 29mm internal — built to survive repeated impacts and still mute trail chatter
- Industry Nine 1/1 hubs, 90 points of engagement at 4° — roughly twice as responsive as a typical older hub

- Handbuilt in Asheville, NC, and backed by a lifetime carbon rim warranty
- Supplied with an HG freehub to match the Transmission cassette
reg. $1,549.00 — save $550
Choose Your Seatpost — a dropper is the single biggest upgrade you can make to a trail bike. Two ways to get one.
- Quick-release seatpost clamp for on-the-trail adjustments
- Frame is dropper-ready whenever you are — 31.6mm with internal routing
- Named Pinkbike's 2024 "Value Product of the Year"
- Sealed air cartridge — no pressure to top off, consistent return ride after ride
- Serviceable at home, backed by PNW's lifetime warranty
- Routes internally through the frame
- Fully wireless actuation with a bar-mounted remote
- No cable to route, no housing to trim, no drag to fight — the natural match for a wireless drivetrain
- Roughly 9,000 drops per charge, IP67 sealed
- Bundle includes post, remote, battery, and charger
Pair the Seekrun with Transmission and there isn't a single shift or dropper cable on the bike. Nothing to route, nothing to trim, nothing to replace.
Choose Your Brakes
- 2-piston hydraulic with 180mm rotors front and rear
- Confidence-inspiring stopping power in all conditions
- Four pistons instead of two — more pad contact, more power, better modulation
- The upgrade that matters most on long, steep descents where 2-piston brakes start to fade
- Worth it if you ride chunky terrain or carry weight
Choose Your Handlebar
- 770mm wide, 35mm clamp — wide and stable for all-mountain control
- Paired with an SBC 3D-forged alloy stem, short and responsive
- UD carbon with a chatter-absorbing layup — the bar is where trail buzz reaches your hands
- Anti-fatigue geometry for long days
- The upgrade you feel on every ride, not just the rough ones
The AXS Pod
Shifting happens through a single handlebar-mounted pod rather than a cable-actuated trigger shifter. Two paddles, and you can reassign what each one does in the SRAM AXS app — upshift, downshift, or set it up however your thumbs prefer.
The app also shows battery level, pushes firmware updates, and handles service reminders. Pairing takes about a minute and doesn't require the app at all if you'd rather skip it.
Batteries
Battery and charger are included. The rechargeable AXS battery is the same one used across SRAM's entire wireless range, so a spare from another bike drops straight in. It swaps in about five seconds with no tools — worth carrying one on long days.
The Pod runs a separate coin cell that lasts years, not rides.

⚠️ Assembly Required: This bike ships partially unassembled and will require crank installation, wheel installation, and fork setup (the steerer tube comes uncut). The Transmission derailleur mounts through the rear axle and follows SRAM's setup procedure — there are no limit screws or indexing to adjust, but the sequence needs to be followed exactly. We strongly recommend professional assembly to ensure the safest and highest quality ride experience.
