I
ILLIA SUNTSOV (New York, US)
My new City friend

Upon arriving in New York, I decided to get myself a mode of transportation in the form of a bicycle. I was drawn to the idea of a simple, stylish single-speed bike. I decided to order my first fixie bike, the black label 6061 v2 green. I reached out to the shop near my home to place the order. After two and a half weeks, the bike still hadn't arrived. It turned out they no longer had the 52-sized frame. I was disappointed and decided to go for the specialized Allez e5. After riding it for over a week, I noticed an odd creak near the pedals, and at higher speeds, an unpleasant sound from the transmission.

I visited the shop several times, attempting to fix it, but we couldn't resolve the issue, so I decided to return it.

The conclusion I drew is that if you're getting a bike with gears, it should start at $2500 or above; anything below that and budget options compromise on quality.

I contemplated for a long time about which bike to choose, and one day, I visited the website and saw the new black label v3. Following the link to YouTube, I noticed that a video had been posted just a few hours ago. I called the shop and placed an order. A week later, I picked up this bike.

I'm thrilled! It has the perfect speed for easy city riding and hill climbs, it's incredibly lightweight, stylish, and I love that the cable system is hidden within the frame.

My initial impressions are very positive, especially considering the price-to-quality ratio – it's just perfect!

Best regards!

Excellent Bicycle, But...

I purchased two 6061 Black Label bicycles, one for my son, and one for me. Overall, the bicycle, and most of the components are excellent. The only problem I've had is that if you're going to use the supplied brakes, which we do, the finish on the stock wheels wears off very quickly, resulting in bare metal showing through, and kinda killing the vibe of the color way. I have several bicycles, that vary in age from a few years, to over a decade, and none of these have near the wear that these wheels show in just a few weeks. I do love the bicycle, but wish they'd use better stock wheels.

My new favorite bike!

I’m not one to write many reviews but I’m compelled to do so for this bike. I have ridden regularly for years on road bikes and mountain bikes, but this bike has immediately become my favorite and haven’t touched my other bikes (which cost many times more then this one) since I got this beauty. I love the way it looks as much as I love riding it.

This bike wants to be ridden

It’s been along time since I’ve rode an aluminum bike. For the past few years, I’ve been riding mountain bikes and steel fixies. They are great bikes, but this one is much lighter and faster compared to the others. Even with one gear, it’s still flies up most hills. On flats, it begs to be ridden fast. I’m really enjoying it so far.

Great bike, get the carbon wheels

Had a buddy of mine that wouldn’t hit the hell up about fixed gear and the connection with the road and the true cyclist, and the blah blah blah. After watching hours of YouTube videos I was stuck between state and priority bicycles. What Mae me choose state was the familiarity with the chain and options for wheels. There was one YouTuber that was glazing on Wabi cycle and he’d bash the state bike any chance he had. I saw it for what it was and I could get a state with carbon wheel for the entry level wabi. Team was helpful and changed my order after some last minute decisions. Bike as beautiful and a very easy build. For the price o didn’t mind a few scuffs and about 2 chips on the paint by the bottom bracket. It’s not noticeable and if I wasn’t putting it together I wouldn’t have noticed. Would buy again 100% but would go for the bob marley theme. I don’t have anything negative to say about this bike

This bike has brought me such joy! Looks great and performs even better. Single speed takes all of the guesswork out of my rides, I’m either going to make it up that hill or I’m walking. Thank you State for making me a better man and a better cyclist!
