Daily dopamine hit

I'm a daily city rider (5mi/day) on somewhat flat (300ft elevation gain), paved trails. This bike was an upgrade from my previous single speed. I wanted something a bit more aggressive. The Black Label nails it. It wants to go fast! And it's so smooth/stable that it inspires the confidence to rip. My average speed is 2mph faster and my heartrate while riding is 15% higher. It's a daily dopamine hit.

Excellent bike

I rode a steel fixie for 20 years until the frame finally cracked. Decided to upgrade to this aluminum frame/carbon fork- and holy hell this bike is fast! Slightly slacker head angle than a true track bike is good for the road, and you can still get low and crank with the drop bars. Branding on the components is a bit much, but nothing some electrical tape can't handle. It actually makes the logo on the downtube pop more with everything else blacked out. Wish they made the deep dish wheels standard, but may upgrade later. Looking forward to another 20 years with this one.

Reconnected me with my love for fixed-gear riding

I recently moved back to the city after a long absence. Having previously worked as a bike courier, riding exclusively fixed-gear track bikes, over 15 years ago, I was yearning to ditch my road bike and go back to my roots. I decided to check out a complete bike from State, as I wanted something new, but I wanted to get up and running as soon as possible and not have to spend time finding parts and building one from the ground up. When this arrived, I dropped it off at my local mechanic up the street who was able to get me up and running very quickly (note: this bike will NOT be ready out of the box to ride, if you don’t have the tools prepare to bring it to a shop). And this bike did exactly what I hoped it would do: made me love urban cycling again. The fit is good, the ride is smooth, and the bike is light and very responsive. I kept the front brake on, as it’s been years since I rode a fixie, but within a very short amount of time I felt at home, splitting lanes and keeping up with traffic. I love this bike.

Nice frame but read carefully

The bike rides nicely but if you want a freewheel be sure to order it with one. Customer service is straight forward:" go to a bike store". So why order a bike when you have to go to a place that sells them? Just because the bike has a flip flop hub doesn't mean it comes with a freewheel. You have to read carefully to see what is or isn't included.

Super Solid!

Just as the reviews that I read prior to deciding to purchase this bike said....it is honestly just as awesome as I had hoped and expected it would be. The bike feels extremely solid for how light it is and after putting a little over 100 miles on it since I received it last week, I have absolutely no complaints. 10/10

Simply your life!

This bike has brought me such joy! Looks great and performs even better. Single speed takes all of the guesswork out of my rides, I’m either going to make it up that hill or I’m walking. Thank you State for making me a better man and a better cyclist!

Sweet bike

The state logo on the down tube is really huge and to much for my liking. Otherwise, this bike is awesome and so fun to rip on!
