When you need one you need one. My previous one just bent. Got a couple to replace and have in hand in case of emergency.

I had no idea why rear derailleur hanger was bent. I bent it back and got a derailleur hanger as back up. This one looks special and is a bit pricier than standard hanger out there

Always good to have an extra on hand. These things look pretty beefy, but you never know.
