Noticeable difference

I purchased these last week received them a couple days later. Took them to the local bike shop to them installed and I’m very happy with my purchase. I don’t even hear that irritating braking noise that my previous ones would make. If you’re in the fence about it do yourself a favor and pull the trigger, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great price for both front and rear and they even look tougher. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏽👍🏽

Great brakes for the $$$!

Used these to replace some older Shimano brakes that were on a Cervelo C3 I recently built up. I got the frame for cheap and was planning to use all spare parts to finish the build, but the Shimano brake calipers weren't working well enough. I've been a fan of SBC for awhile (I've had 2 fixed gears from them over the last decade that are still going strong) and thought I'd give these brakes a chance. I paired them with the SBC brake/shift levers and they're working great. I've put about 200 miles on them so far and they've worked perfectly. Everything a bike part should be: easy to install, easy to adjust, they work well. I wish I would've ordered them during Black Friday, but even at full price they're worth the $$$

Just buy hydros

Unfortunately I can’t in good conscience recommend these brakes. I thought the mechanical cable disc brakes were bad, these were just as weak, no stopping power. Ultimately I broke down and put on a Corner bar with some cheap Shimano Altus flat mount hydraulic brakes and now have the power & confidence the all road always should have had.

Cable-actuated hydraulic calipers are great!

I purchased my State All-Road a couple of years ago, prior to that model being equipped with the cable-actuated hydraulic calipers as standard. Upgrading the mechanical calipers to hydraulic has been a game changer! I no longer have to exert so much manual force on the brake levers to get firm, controlled stopping power. I also installed compression-less cable housings as part of the install, which makes a big difference. Install of the new calipers was straightforward and seamless; I'm really glad I made the upgrade!

An improvement over the stock brakes

Installation is a breeze. It takes a few rides to get the bedded in but once they are it is a significant improvement over the stock brakes on my State All-road. Not quite as good as SRAM full hydraulic brakes but very close and a much easier upgrade. A nice upgrade if you aren't too happy with the stock mechanical brakes.

New handlebar position unlocked

I have two bikes. A road bike with hydraulic brakes and gravel adventure bike with mechanical. For the gravel I decided to upgrade to these hydraulic mechanical brakes but didn’t know how it would turn out.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much the braking performance improved. I would say they on par with my hydraulic brakes now. Not only is it easier to brake from the drops, I can now brake from the hoods which was pretty much impossible for me before. That’s made it way easier to navigate any technical parts of the trail where I want the ability to brake but can’t access the hoods. I would say this is right up there with adding a dropper post to my favorite upgrades to an adventure bike setup.

Great Brake Upgrade

Stock brakes on Poseidon Redwood needed a lot of trial (trail :p) and error to get the brake feel I wanted. Compressionless housing was a step in the right direction. Combined with these brakes the feel is responsive and powerful. Easy setup too.

Upgrading brakes

So far they are much more responsive than my original cable actuated disc brakes. Reluctantly learning more about disc technology and trying to maintain them myself. So far so good. Only a few miles on them but noticeably more stopping power.
