Great box section wheels

Put these wheels on a project bike and they are very comfy. The mid profile as they call it looks really classy and give you that springy, lovely feeling when your on the road and helps soak up small bumps and jolts on the dirt. I paired these wheels with some .32 c Gravel King tires and they were dreamy. The only con is I feel like the spikes are lacking in strength do to the gap between hub and rim. I found myself having to true them or tighten spokes more often than I liked. Overall very happy with these and I would highly recommend them for your every day or all-around bike.

Black Label mid profile wheels

2nd set of these wheels
First set were just fine

This set arrived with very loose spokes and not dished correctly
Where the rim is pinned together there is a noticeable difference
Enough that the brakes pads make an audible notice as they hit the ridge on the sidewall
Dissatisfied

Came true. They look even better in person.

This wheelset and my Sram Omniums have been the best upgrades to my cromo frame. Super smooth, responsive and have taken the pounding of New Orleans potholes. Wheelset arrived true and are still true. Lots of quality for a small price. Cheers

So far so good

Decided to upgrade my wheel set and so far these are riding much smoother than my old set. Also a little lighter as well which is nice

What's with the braking?

These are the stock wheels that come on the black label v3. I just bought one last month. I've called and emailed state about my issue with no reply. Why is the braking track on these wheels painted? Within200 miles of use they are losing the paint. It's transferring into the pads. Braking power is lost. A nice sand paper grit sound to go with trying to stop. These wheels and the stock brakes on the black label suck. And it could all be avoided by starting with a clean non painted braking track.

Solid wheels so far

Only rode 10 miles on them so far but they look and ride great, nicely packaged, true as can be. I stupidly ignored the warning about tightening the cog and lockring, assuming it would have been torqued before shipping anyway, but barely made it out of my driveway before realizing it wasn't safe to ride - after searching for tools for a couple of hours found a method called "rotofix" that will tighten the cog by doubling the chain over itself (use a rag on your bottom bracket to protect paint) and very carefully tighten by rotating the rear wheel! Then gently tapped the lockring as tight as I could without damaging it with flathead and hammer. Note: I have front AND rear brakes (almost never used but have probably saved my life a few times) and don't do skids any more, and will check for tightness after every ride for some time! Use this method at your own risk! The wheels look awesome on my all-black fixie!
