The 23mm internal width TSS (hookless) rim is designed around modern road rubber, taking 28–39mm tires and letting you run them at lower pressures for less rolling resistance and more control on whatever the road throws at you. This is the SRAM XDR build — it requires an XDR-compatible cassette (SRAM 12-speed road / XPLR). It is not compatible with 10/11-speed SRAM/Shimano road cassettes. The 404 S is a hookless (TSS) wheel and must be paired with a hookless-compatible tire. Built for road and all-road riding — not intended for gravel.
