SRAM Rival XPLR XG-1351 Cassette — 13-Speed, 10-46T, XDR

7737416056919

or
Pay Per Month

Thirteen speeds, 10 to 46 teeth, 460% of range.

This is the cassette that lets a single chainring cover everything a gravel ride throws at you — pavement transfers fast enough to hold a group, and a bailout gear low enough for the climb you didn't know was coming.

Cog sizes: 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 24, 28, 32, 38, 46.

You need a 13-speed XPLR rear derailleur

Start here, because it disqualifies most bikes.

This is a 13-speed cassette. It requires a SRAM XPLR 1x 13-speed rear derailleur. If your bike runs a 12-speed AXS rear derailleur — Rival, Force, or RED — this cassette will not work with it. Not with a firmware update, not with adjustment. The cog spacing is different and the derailleur has a different number of positions to index through.

It's also 1x only. There is no front derailleur configuration for a 13-speed XPLR drivetrain.

Running 12-speed and want more range? You want the 12-speed XG-1250 in 10-36 instead. Same family, same feel, works with the derailleur you already have.

What the 13th cog actually buys you

Here's the useful comparison. The 12-speed 10-36 cassette runs 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 24, 28, 32, 36.

This one runs those same cogs from 10 through 32 — identical spacing, identical feel in every gear you use on the road — and then spends the extra cog on a 38 and a 46 instead of stopping at 36.

So you're not trading away road performance to get climbing range. You're adding climbing range on top of it. That's the argument for 13-speed in one sentence.

The honest note: the jump from 38 to 46 is eight teeth, and you'll feel it. That's a bailout gear, not a gear you fine-tune your cadence in. It's there for the wall you weren't expecting or the last climb with sixty miles in your legs, and for that it's exactly right.

What this gives you on the bike

On a 42T ring: 42x10 at the top for pavement, down to 42x46 at the bottom — below 1:1, which is the number that matters for loaded gravel and steep dirt.

On a 48T ring: a genuinely fast top gear for road and TT use, with roughly 1:1 still available at the bottom. This is how you build one bike that races gravel and keeps up on the group road ride.

460% total range from a single chainring is more than most 2x road setups deliver — with no front derailleur, no front shifts, and nothing to drop a chain.

You need an XDR driver body

A 10-tooth cog is physically smaller than a standard HG freehub body — the cog can't fit over it. XDR is the driver body built for cassettes that start below 11 teeth.

Check your rear hub before ordering. If your wheels have an HG or Shimano-style freehub, this cassette will not mount, and no adapter changes that. Most wheel manufacturers sell an XDR driver as a replaceable part — usually a ten-minute swap, but you need the correct one for your specific hub.

XDR is not XD. They look similar. XDR is 1.85mm longer and built for road hub spacing. An XD driver from a mountain wheelset won't work here.

Built for gravel conditions

Nickel chrome plating adds surface hardness for a longer service life and runs quieter under the chain — which matters more on a 46-tooth cog than it sounds, because that's the gear you're in when you're already working hard and don't want to hear the drivetrain complain.

The open architecture between cogs sheds mud rather than packing it. A cassette that packs shifts badly and wears fast, and gravel is where that happens.

You will need a SRAM Flattop chain

SRAM's road and gravel drivetrains use Flattop chains, a different design from standard chains. A Shimano chain will not work. A SRAM Eagle chain will not work. A generic 12 or 13-speed chain will not work.

Compatible: SRAM Road Flattop D1 or Road Flattop E1.

What you'll still need

  • A SRAM XPLR 1x 13-speed rear derailleur — this is not optional
  • An XDR driver body on your rear hub — verify before ordering
  • SRAM Road Flattop chain, D1 or E1
  • A cassette lockring tool — standard 12-spline type

Fitment

  • Speeds: 13
  • Rear derailleur: SRAM XPLR 1x 13-speed only. Not compatible with any 12-speed AXS derailleur.
  • Drivetrain: 1x only
  • Driver body: XDR only. Not compatible with HG or XD.
  • Chain: SRAM Road Flattop D1 or Road Flattop E1 only

  • Speeds: 13
  • Total range: 460%
  • Finish: Nickel chrome plated, silver
  • Driver body interface: XDR

Installation

Standard cassette install with one caution: XDR driver bodies are aluminum on most hubs, and an over-torqued lockring will bite into them. Use a torque wrench and follow the value in SRAM's documentation. A little anti-seize on the driver splines makes removal much easier a year from now.

Replace the chain at the same time if the old one is worn. A worn chain on a new cassette will chew the new cogs quickly, and you'll be buying both again.
