[Q] Does the Undefeated come with brakes?
[A] Yes. However, please be aware that the Undefeated is shipped with brakes strictly for legal reasons. Some states require that bikes always be shipped with both front and rear brakes. The Undefeated is constructed to be used as a track bike and is not intended to be used with brakes and a free wheel cog in its stock form. If this is how you plan to use your Undefeated, we advise that you speak with our sales team to have your bike assembled with machined wheels to accommodate for front and rear brakes.

This bike looks as good in the flesh as it does in the pictures. I get compliments everyday I ride it and it's been nearly a year now. I've left everything stock on the bike except the wheels. It is awesome.
I would say if I were to complain about one thing regarding this bike or State in general is that the wheels that come with this bike are too heavy for a bike this light. You would definitely do well to upgrade the wheelset. I found a nice set of H+Son TB-14s for about $150 that are considerably lighter and have a wider rim which helps improve the handling and soften the ride a bit if you commute with this bike. I would have just upgraded my wheelset when I ordered this bike but State only offers you their stock wheels or some extremely expensive wheels which are probably great but they could do with some less extreme options as well.
I got my undefeated a year ago today and it's still going incredibly strong after a lot of miles and crashes! The omnium cranks make the bike ride like a car; they're so incredibly smooth. I kept the stock ratio which is absolutely perfect for my style of riding (mostly street racing). The wheels on the bike could use an upgrade, but I can't afford any so I'm sticking with the classic B43s, which are relatively light and I love the deep profile on them. The frame set is spectacular: it's absurdly light and just beautiful looking. I get complements all the time riding down Hollywood Blvd. or at the velodrome, and people with $10k+ bikes want mine just based off the frame set. State really hit a home run with the neon green on a sort of matte black, and it may be on of the best color ways ever to be found on a bike. The pedals that came with the undefeated were cheap, but I doubt anyone that buys this bike will keep the stock pedals over a set of clipless. The pedals would be the only bad thing about the bike, but it's just perfect. The only thing I replaced on the bike was the bars with FSA compact drop bars with lizard skin tape, the Ritchey stem with a carbon FSA stem, the Ritchey seat post with a carbon FLY seatpost, the trap pedals with shimano clipless ones, the tires with gators, and the seat. This bike is really the nicest and best bike I've ever owned. I'm extremely happy with it and despite being hit by a car and hundreds of miles, and it's been great!
Ever since I bought this bike in March I have had no problems with it at all. I've rode about 2000 miles on it so far and it's still performing like the day I received it and put it together. I get compliments on it everywhere I go. I'm so glad I chose State to buy my bike. The ordering process was easy and received my bike within 2 days. Now my wife wants a pink black label so I will be ordering one soon for her. Great company and greats bikes.
Bike looks great in real!. It looks very good, frame welding looks smooth very professional, paint is very well finished. The main components like crank stem, seat post, and BB are excellent. However handlebar was not the same as shown in web site pictures mine has the handlebar terminals bent to the center, I personally do not like this and I have changed for aero FSA handlebars. I could not use the saddle too too much roundness so, I changed for a specialized one and bike looks and feels much better now.
I had an issue with my wheels and warranty took couple of weeks but State Bicycle sent a very good set of wheels. That is way I gave 4 stars only.
Very pleased with my bike.
