Great tire at a terrific price

The all road bike I purchased from State Bicycle two years ago, which I use primarily for gravel road riding, came equipped with Vittoria Brazo tires. I was impressed with them on my first ride. They are great on gravel, handle well, and provide a very comfortable ride. Surprisingly, these knobby tires roll much faster than I thought they would on pavement and have only flatted once in a part of Colorado with a serious goat head problem. After nearly 2,500 miles, it was finally time to replace the rear tire and State Bicycle had the lowest for a new Barzo that I could find. The tire arrived a couple of days ago, I mounted it without any problem, and am about to take it for my third consecutive day of riding on dirt/hard rock roads in Gunnison National Forest near Crested Butte, Colorado. I haven't had any problems with the new tire and am completely satisfied with how it has performed.

I will never get these tires off

Rare to puncture, but their rigid bead is unfriendly for road side fixes. I dislike having to go to a shop to change a tube just to have someone else defeat the bead.

Riding technical XC? The Barzo is the choice of the 2015 World Champion, as well as the winner of the BC Bike Race. How can such an aggressive XC tire roll so fast? The magic starts in the center tread, where we place an alternating ridge design, and progressive sipe angles. Cornering duties are handled by the moto-style block knobs, laid out in a proven V-formation. The result is a tire that corners as fast as it rolls, while still offering the protection of a full-depth tread. Rocks and roots? Check. World Championship? Check.

[FEATURES]

  • Medium spaced knobs for a range of terrain and conditions
  • Aggressive XC tread for the most technical terrain
  • Designed for Mixed Terrain situations
