First Look 👀 : 4130 All-Road / Gravel / Work / Commuter / Do-It-All Bike

It is our pleasure to finally introduce the 4130 All-Road. We’ll take you through a deep-dive on all the features of this extremely capable machine. We'll start with the frame...

The Frame

The 4130 All-Road comes in 2 frame colors (Sonoran Tan / Pigeon Gray) and 4 sizes to accommodate riders 5’1” to 6’5”. We built this with our favorite features of its predecessor’s (The Warhawk SSCX and Pulsar 29er), 4130 Chromoly Steel which is sturdy and durable, but also very compliant on the dirt. One will be quick to notice the front fork and rear end both feature a multitude of mounting points giving the rider endless possibilities as to rack, fender, bottle-cage, and cargo carrying options. The bike’s geometry is tailored to be comfortable for long days in the saddle on and off the road. The frame is also designed to be thru-axle with 100/142 spacing, a feature that is practically unheard-of in the sub-$1000 category. This feature gives the bike compatibility with a myriad of wheel set options / sizes (tire clearance up to 53c), which brings us to our favorite feature…..

The Wheels / Tires

Anyone who’s ridden off-road knows wheel/tire choice / pressure is everything. It’s an on-going joke here at State Bicycle Co. that “what’s your tire pressure?” is the dirt-equivalent to a fixie-kid asking “what ratio you running?” - that said we simply couldn’t release this bike with 1 option. The 4130 All-Road comes standard with a rider’s choice of 700c wheels with 38c tire OR 650b with 1.9” tires. The rims and tires are tubeless compatible (you’ll need tape and sealant). We chose the gold-standard in gravel/ all-road tires, the Panaracer Gravel King for both size options, keeping in mind certain road conditions / usage for each.

The 700c wheelset features the 38c Panaracer Gravel King which is best suited for cyclists wanting to venture out away from the road and cross over to off-road / gravel use. Or simply have to deal with less-than-perfect road conditions. We recommend this option if you’re planning on still riding this bike on the road, and venturing into smooth gravel roads and light single-track.

The 650b wheelset offers a larger 1.9” Panaracer Gravel King SK that is perfect for anyone looking for a tire that’s more suitable for hardcore roads, and lots of off-road use. This is a “go-anywhere” tire.

BUT WHY PICK- when you can get both!? - State Bicycle Co. has always had the motto Rider First. To us, that means allowing each rider to select a bike that is perfect for their riding needs. When a rider orders their 4130 All-Road bike, they are able to choose 700c or 650b (at no cost difference) OR GET BOTH $349.99.  We’ll make it easy to go back and forth between each wheelset, when you order BOTH - you get a 2nd set of fully-load wheels which includes: Wheels, Rotors, Cassette, Tires and Tubes - all you need to do is remove the thru-axle from your first wheelset, pop on the new one, tighten up, and RIDE! This is our way of offering 2-bikes-in-1. Commute to work with the 700c wheelset Monday-Friday, and rip the trails on your 650b wheels on the weekends!

State’s Gone Geared (again)

Unlike its previous Off-Road Division predecessors, this bike is geared. We’ve developed a 1x11 All-Road drivetrain to power these machines. The crank is our narrow-wide 1x All-Road Crank (previously seen on the new Undefeated Road - Apex), with 42t chainring paired with an 11-42t cassette for 1:1 gearing capable of climbing the toughest grades. For the single-speed die-hards, the bike is also available in a Frame Set to build as your hard-core heart desires.

Details Matter.

We wanted this bike to be perfect from the get-go. Our designer Clay Maxey, took inspiration from our home state (Arizona), off-road vehicles, and an unlikely source; sneakers. Clay is a self-proclaimed sneakerhead and we loved the staggered-swoosh look on the Nike Sacai LDV so we incorporated a similar styling in the bikes.

From the top (New All-Road Bars) to the bottom (Stealth Thru-Axle), we took our time developing each aspect of the bike to get this bike exactly where it needed to be for you and best of all it’s backed by our 5-Year Warranty.

See it for yourself, we know you won’t find a more versatile bike for $799 and the 2-in-1 option is HIGHLY recommended.
