The Klunker. What is it? A beautiful, retro-inspired, mash-up of part beach cruiser, part mountain bike, and part BMX. The perfect âDGAFâ bike, for neighborhood cruises, trips to the corner store, and walking the dogâŚ.OR⌠if youâre feeling audacious, mount up and rip a trail.
Built on a durable steel frame and fork with a 5-year warranty, this bike will take a beating and look good while doing it. We paired the bike with BMX Style stem and a 30â extra-wide V-bar with 7" rise and Vans Grips.Â
No brakes needed. This bike eliminates all the complications of modern day bikes, focusing on recapturing your favorite childhood memories of riding. Mash the pedals, coast, take a jump when you find one, and lay down fat skids by pedaling backwards on the coaster-brake equipped hub. No need to be afraid of dirt, weâve equipped this with 27.5x2.3â WTB Vigilante Mountain Bike Tires. When youâre done, crack open your favorite beverage on the included bottle opener attached to the bottle cage mounts.
To celebrate the new line, we partnered to create two limited-edition collabs.
State Bicycle Co x Free & Easy
Born in Los Angeles, Free & Easy embodies the California lifestyle.  From the streets to the beach, good times with friends, backyard BBQs with music bumping, early morning surf sessions, beachside bicycle cruising and long skate missions through the cityâŚ..Free & Easy is a lifestyle.  Lets live it
"There is nothing better than when two like-minded companies can come together and create something beautiful. Â Our collaboration with SBC has been seamless, from initial ideation all the way through development and final production. Â Harmony is what we strive for and our experience with State has been nothing but harmonious! Â We couldnât be happier with the State x F&E OG Klunker and canât wait to hit the streets! Â We dig SBCâs quality, vibe, attention to detail and point of view and we share in a common goal of inspiring people to feel good and get free!" say Kevin Circosta, founder of Free & Easy
Kevin continues, "The essence of Free & Easy is inspired by the late 70âs / early 80âs surf, skate and bicycle culture.  Itâs that effortless feeling that we all knowâŚ.when you are coasting down the road with the warm sun on your face and cool wind in your hair.  We wanted to pay homage to the original days of the pre-mountain bike era when early innovators built custom cruisers that could go anywhere.  A bike that is tough enough to hit the trails and cool enough for a mellow cruise or 6-pack run.  We wanted to design a bike that was new for State but fit right into the wheelhouse of both brands.  We wanted to create something that both an entry level rider and bicycle enthusiast alike could enjoy and appreciate.  We love the quality of the build, the sturdiness of the bike and the era-correct hand sprayed gradient details on the frame that really make our Klunker feel special."

So, wear it loud and wear it proud, and let the State Forty Eight logo serve as a reminder to proclaim your passions but never forget where you came from.
âWe are thrilled to collaborate with State Bicycle Co,â says State Forty Eight Creative Director, Nicholas Polando. âItâs a dream to be able to come together with another Arizona-grown company and deliver a unique product to our clientele.â
âFor this collaboration bike we wanted it to be something that spoke to our demographic,â says Polando. âSomething that was different yet practicalâand the retro-inspired Klunker fit that idea. The obvious color choice was the deep sparkly copper, to pull some true Arizona vibes. The Thick Cactus Arizona shape is front-and-center on the head badge, while our main logo sits near the bottle opener on the down tube. Be sure to try and find the love of Arizona Easter egg hidden on the bike as well
