Leave it to Red Bull to deliver two of the most entertaining and particularly athletically challenging ways to race a fixed gear bike as a party weekend in San Francisco

Welcome to the 2019 Red Bull Bay Climb! We travel to San Francisco, California, home of Portero Hill which boasts a 21% climb that is not for the faint-of-heart.

Athlete, Addison Zawada gives us his run down on the epic, 100 Mile, gravel-grind known as Landrun 100, held each year in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Red Bull Bay Climb in San Francisco charges up three blocks of sheer cliffside on DeHaro Street, including grades up to 21%, so get your tissues ready to cry or plug a nosebleed, and you might need a barf bag too. Full disclosure / partial spoiler: out of three of our team members that participated, one raced four heats total, another threw up after each heat, and the other one chugged a beer hand-up just before winning the semifinal race. At only two years strong, Bay Climb is must-see – one hell of an event, more literally for those in the arena.

The team heads to San Francisco on 4/20 for Mission Crit 5. Some things are best left unexplained, and spoiler alert: We find out that the next best thing to a podium spot is a slumber party with pizza and sodas and staying up way past bedtime watching 8 Mile with best buddies. It's a win, ok? Well at least we dodged E. coli. I think we're in the clear? One thing is for certain – racing is serious.

On August 1, 2015 -- Roughly 70 brave souls showed up for the 2nd annual Hell Ride, which challenges riders to ascend South Mountain: the longest climb in Phoenix, AZ. Not sure if you're aware but Phoenix is hot. Like, 100 + Fahrenheit hot. Oh and the ride was fixed-gear, too. Riders were tested. Water was hastily consumed. Hell ensued. But Glory was had.
